Mercy Gate Ministries is a charitable organization complying with IRS publication 557. Karen Stewart (Bishop/Corporation Soul) founded the ministry in 2002 after several mission trips to Kenya. The need for medical help and orphan care became evident and this ministry was formed to address these as well as other issues.

We are registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) under the name of Mercy Gate International in Kenya, East Africa. Mercy Gate Ministries has a Board of Directors in Eugene, Oregon, to whom the Founder is accountable. Mercy Gate International also has a Board of Directors, which resides in Kenya and consists of Kenyan citizens, to whom the Founder is also accountable.
