MEDICAL CLINIC
We need to build a medical clinic out where the people live. Most of the Maasai people do not have vehicles. That means they have to walk miles to the nearest paved road to catch a ride to a town in order to get medical help. They will often just not go because it is too hard and cost too much to get to and from town.

We are planning to build the clinic in an area that has approximately 1200 adults. The number of children is unknown but families tend to be large, so we are estimating that there are at least the same number of children and probably many more.

One of our plans for the future is to have a mobile medical unit that can go to where the people are on a regular basis.

ESTIMATED COST (WITH LAND): $125,000.00

BOREHOLE (We call them wells)
Our borehole will have a large holding tank. We would also like to put in a filtration system. This borehole will serve the public as well as the medical clinic.

ESTIMATED COST: $12,000.00 to $25,000.00.

ORPHAN CARE
We will have an orphange and foster homes. Families willing to take in orphans will be given job training such as beekeeping, tree farming, etc. and set up in business in turn for raising children in their homes. All families participating in the foster care program will receive free medical service through our clinic.

ESTIMATED COST: UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME BUT ABOUT $125,000.00 TO GET STARTED.

OTHER NEEDS
The Maasai people used to be strictly nomadic but have been settling down and owning land. This is creating a strain on environmental resources such as wood. Trees near watersheds are being cut down destroying the ecosystem in those areas. Therefore, the need for tree farms has arisen to stop this destruction. We plan to bring in experts in different fields to help us develop programs to meet the changing needs of the Maasai tribe.

ESTIMATED COST: UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME.
