Captors use physical abuse, intimidation, forced drug abuse, deception, fraud, and threats against loved ones all as ways to keep their victims from attempting escape. Victims are constantly watched and hidden.

Victims of trafficking and slavery are almost everywhere. Whether it’s a crowded city or remote farmland, there is no area that is exempt. Victims have been found in factories, workshops, restaurants, hotels, and even in the military. In a normal day it’s possible for you to see several human slaves and not even know it.

Because they are difficult to find it takes coordinated efforts from law enforcement, religious groups, government agencies, social media, telephone hotlines, determined loved ones and others to find most victims.
