Restore

Once rescued, the Survivor now faces the problem of escaping from the life-defeating effects of her trauma. Currently, Mercy Gate stands ready to take her down that path of healing and restoration through "The Journey".

Restoration

The Journey Program is the restoration program of Mercy Gate Ministries. Survivors come into the program through the ARC program, partner referrals, law enforcement, legal system, and word of mouth referrals.

All survivors are screened and interviewed by our Acceptance Committee and if qualified, admitted into our residential or nonresidential program. Each of these programs offer basic classes on topics such as identity, foundational Christian principles, emotional healing, healthy relationships, and much more.

The Journey program also provides counseling, inner healing ministry, art and equine therapies, goal setting, and life skills training. The restoration portion of our program focuses on the survivors' healing and preparation to return to independence.

The Journey is a 12+ month, faith-based program of restoration. This program is designed to address the multifaceted needs of trauma victims using a holistic approach. Our team meets residents right where they are and creates an individual treatment plan designed to fulfill her specific spiritual, emotional, psychological, medical, and life-skill needs.

Using our signature holistic approach, we combine classes, counseling, ministry, recovery, and additional therapies to assist our residents in obtaining true freedom.

Survivors in our nonresidential program are offered the same quality programming while living independently. We coordinate with the Survivors current schedule to create an individualized service plan that allows the Survivor to maintain her current responsibilities, while receiving all of the benefits and healing that The Journey program offers.

After the initial period of assessment and rest, the participant will transition into The Journey Program. This 12-month program is also spent in the Magdalene House at this time, but plans are in place to expand into separate housing, called Arukah Homes by mid-2022.

In The Journey, they will progress through a four-phase program designed to produce mental, emotional, spiritual and medical stability. She will be monitored at all times, and formally evaluated monthly and may progress more quickly or more slowly through the phases depending on her individual needs. The phases will build on each other until the program is completed. The four phases are:
